Ticket Appeals
If you believe that your parking ticket was issued in error, you can appeal it online within 14 days from the issue date of the ticket. Once payment is made on a parking ticket, an appeal may not be filed.
Appeal decisions cannot be made in person or over the phone.
Town of Canmore Municipal Enforcement will not revoke tickets based on personal reasons. These matters have to be heard under oath in Alberta Traffic Court. If you have a legal reason for your appeal, you must provide supporting documents.
Please note that some tickets have a lower fine amount if paid within 7 days. If you appeal a ticket, you will not have the opportunity to pay the lower fine amount.
The following are NOT reasons for a ticket to be revoked:
- I only parked in the location for a short time
- Other vehicles were parked illegally
- I could not find other parking
- I did not know that I could not park there
- I did not see the sign/fire hydrant
- I cannot afford to pay the fine
- This is the first time I have received a ticket
- I am not from the area
- I am a local
- I should have received a warning
