Age-Friendly Working Group Application

The age-friendly working group, supported by the Town of Canmore, will actively work toward receiving an official age-friendly community designation from the Government of Alberta.

We're seeking volunteers who:

  • Care about improving services and accessibility for seniors.
  • Can attend regular meetings, collaborate with others, and contribute to planning and executing an age-friendly action plan.
  • Bring diverse perspectives, skillsets and lived experiences.

As a member of the working group, you'll:

  • Raise awareness and advocate for the importance and benefits of an Age-Friendly community.
  • Help lead community engagement sessions to explore current assets and barriers to aging that currently exists.
  • In collaboration with community partners, develop and implement an age-friendly action plan based around the World Health Organization's pillars of an age-friendly community.
