The Town of Canmore is seeking offers from qualified firms to provide professional services in support of the drafting and development of a new Land Use Bylaw ("Land Use Bylaw Rewrite" project). The standing offer will span 2.5 years with opportunity for renewals and will focus on working related to planning and policy support (e.g., this could include the creation of massing models, renderings, design testing/test fits, visualizations, research, analysis, and advising on, reviewing, or drafting zoning regulations).
This request for proposal is an invitation by the Town of Canmore (the Town) to provide pay parking services. The Project consists of replacing existing hardware and software that is currently being used to facilitate and enforce paid and permit parking in various areas throughout the Townsite. The Project scope includes integrated software and equipment to allow for permitting, virtual and on-site parking payments, and parking enforcement. Multiple Vendors may be considered.
The Town of Canmore is seeking proposals for the design, fabrication, and delivery of a durable, four-season, temporary washroom facility to replace the existing public washrooms at 906A 7 Avenue in downtown Canmore. The new facility must meet high standards of hygiene, safety, and accessibility, with a design that accommodates increased capacity through multiple layout options (6, 8, or 12 self-contained universal stalls, including accessible stalls). It will comply with all local building codes, the Accessible Canada Act and must be vandal resistant.
Removal of the existing facility, site preparation, utility improvements and connections will be managed separately. A two-year warranty and maintenance plan are required as part of the
proposal.
Certain high-wear areas of the polished concrete floor at Elevation Place have been eroded by salt and water exposure. The Town requires a contractor to locally square off the affected areas, sawcut and chip the surface and apply a high strength cementitious grout to a depth of roughly ¼ to ½ inch. The floors have radiant in-floor heating, limiting the depth of the repairs. This work will be scheduled to be completed after normal operating hours. The full scope of work is detailed in Section 3.4 Scope of Work.
The floors of the pool deck and change rooms at Elevation Place are lined with ceramic tiles. The Town requires a contractor to perform ceramic tile maintenance including removal and replacement of tiles complete with a waterproofing membrane, and regrouting other identified areas. The full scope of work is detailed in Section 3.4 Scope of Work.
The Town of Canmore is soliciting proposals for providing retail natural gas services and related commodity products for it’s three portfolios: Municipal, Water & Waste Water Treatment and the Bow Valley Regional Housing Authority. Qualified respondents will form a prequalified pool of suppliers that will be eligible to bid on Town of Canmore natural gas purchases for a period of up to seven (7) years.

The Roundhouse completed construction in 2012 as a purpose-built facility for a community daycare. The kitchen was designed to prepare snacks rather than hot full meals and as such, it was not built to commercial standards. Since the initial operating model, the daycare now provides hot lunches in addition to snacks. This change has led to non-compliance reports during mandatory Alberta Health Services (AHS) inspections. The project aims to address these deficiencies and bring the kitchen up to commercial standards. |
The Elevation Place climbing gym is a heavily used 365 square meter space offering top rope climbing, lead climbing, auto belays, and bouldering to patrons year-round. The space is divided by a wall that terminates near the entrance with a prow feature. This splits the gym into left and right corridors with a prominent “moose hole” opening in the middle of the wall to allow passage between corridors. The left corridor accommodating roped climbing as well as a dedicated 4.5m bouldering wall. The right corridor has both roped climbing and auto belays. The gym accommodates bouldering to 3m everywhere throughout the gym.
The existing cushioned landing surface is to be removed and replaced with a climbing gym floor system to meet or exceed current industry standards. A removable pathway is a critical component to the design as is the schedule for delivery and installation.
The Town of Canmore is issuing this Request for Proposal to select a qualified Consultant to prepare a Recreation Facility Feasibility Study to assist the Town in updating the off-site levy (Town of Canmore's by-law 2020-27). This work will require the Consultant to conduct a preliminary recreation facility needs assessment, define long-term needs, options and provide a feasibility analysis.
This project involves installation of a new photoionization odour control system (pre-purchased by the Town) for the solids handling building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and replacement of the generator at Lift Station #1 with a new diesel generator (pre-purchased by the Town).

The first would be an area-specific density bonusing scheme as part of an Area Redevelopment Plan for downtown Canmore, linked to the unique goals of the plan and desired built forms (planning process underway).
