Sensory-Friendly Toys Together is a drop-in child development designed specifically for caregivers and children ages 0 – 6 who can benefit from a low sensory environment.
Lights will be dimmed and sensory toys such as fidgets and headphones will be provided. This is an open space to play, explore, and socialize with others. Toys are provided to help children learn through free play, to encourage imagination and creativity, and to develop fine and gross motor skills. Families may join and leave at any point during each session.

Stroller Strides: Walk & Connect is a program where parents come together for a nature walk. It’s a chance to connect, stay active, and enjoy quality time with your little ones. This program will be facilitated by a Family Connection Centre staff member who will be available to share optional child development resources.
Strengthen your parent-child bond, get outside and move while building friendships. Let’s stride together!
Equipment Needed: Stroller, weather-appropriate clothing and any personal items such as snacks, water, and diapers.
Note: Program is subject to cancellation due to extreme weather conditions.
Program Dates: Thursdays, May 22 – October 2 from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m.

This free event is part of Seniors’ Week and is open to community members ages 55+.
A chakra bowl sound bath is a meditative practice aimed at restoring emotional and physical well-being. Using quartz bowls, it relaxes the body, reduces stress, and promotes emotional and physical health through vibrational frequencies.
No equipment required, but a blanket or comfortable clothes are recommended. Participants can enjoy this seated unless they prefer lying on the ground.

Indigenous Cultural Learning Workshop: Stoney Beaded Tipi Workshop, hosted in partnership with Listen Studios for National Indigenous History Month.
Join Iyethka Stoney Nakoda artists Kyle Kaquitts and Jarron Poucette for a hands-on, culturally rich experience in traditional beaded tipi-making. This unique workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn the art and symbolism behind Stoney Nakoda beadwork from knowledge keepers themselves. All supplies are provided, and participation is free.

Stroller Strides: Walk & Connect is a program where parents come together for a nature walk. It’s a chance to connect, stay active, and enjoy quality time with your little ones. This program will be facilitated by a Family Connection Centre staff member who will be available to share optional child development resources.
Strengthen your parent-child bond, get outside and move while building friendships. Let’s stride together!
Equipment Needed: Stroller, weather-appropriate clothing and any personal items such as snacks, water, and diapers.
Note: Program is subject to cancellation due to extreme weather conditions.

Indigenous Cultural Learning Workshop: Craft Workshop, hosted in partnership with the Îyârhe Nakoda Youth Program for National Indigenous History Month.
Celebrate creativity and culture! This free craft workshop, designed for youth, invites participants to explore traditional Indigenous materials and techniques in a supportive, fun environment led by Iyethka Stoney Nakoda artists. Supplies are included.

Canada Day Parade
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Location: Downtown Canmore
We will be celebrating with our annual parade between 12pm – 1:30pm on Tuesday, July 1st down Fairholme Dr. and Main St. Vehicle access to downtown will be impacted due to road closures on July 1st between 10am – 2pm, with no vehicle access between these times to impacted areas. We encourage you to plan ahead and walk, bike, or Roam.

This program will be facilitated by a Family Connection Centre staff member who will be available to share optional child development resources.
Strengthen your parent-child bond, get outside and move while building friendships. Let’s stride together!
