Policeman's Creek Loop

This 1.24 km loop is a scenic trail connecting Main Street to Spring Creek that features the iconic Policeman’s Creek Boardwalk that traverses over a marsh that teems with birds during the spring and summer months.
There is a bridge that crosses over policeman’s creek to the south side where you can find a paved, shaded path that runs along side the creek. The rest of this loop is a wide sidewalk connecting the paved path back to Main Street.
Parking is located at downtown lots or near Elevation Place.
Note that the west entrance to the Policeman’s Creek Boardwalk has stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. The rest of the trail is wheelchair friendly and paved.
Bow River Loop

This 2.03 km loop is a scenic river walk on a wide gravel path with stunning views of the Bow River and the mountains around Canmore. This trail meanders along the river and crosses several bridges, including the historic Canmore Engine Bridge. This loop also passes by Riverside Park, which is a lovely place to stop for a picnic. Combine this loop with other nearby trails along the Bow River for a longer walk.
You can find convenient paid parking at the Canmore Boat Launch or at Riverside Park. More parking is also available downtown.

East Bow River Trail

This 5.1-km out-and-back trail includes scenic views of the Bow River and connects to Millenium Park. Combine this trail with other nearby trails such as the Bow River Loop for a longer walk.
You can find convenient parking at the Canmore Boat Launch, Riverside Park, or Millenium Park.

This trail is wheelchair accessible but unpaved.
North Bow River Trail

This is a popular trail for birding, running, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
This loop is located north of the Canmore Engine Bridge and the Spurline Trail and features scenic views of the Bow River, and the surrounding mountains. Most of the trail is in a shaded forest that loops through residential areas and the Canmore Golf Club.
This trail can be a good option for those looking for something a little less crowded, but still close to downtown Canmore, or can be a good extension to other nearby trails such as the Bow River Loop.
The Canmore Recreation Centre is the only large parking lot near the trail, but this loop can also be reached by parking at the Boat Launch, Riverside Park, or the Town Centre, and using other local trails that connect to the North Bow River Loop.

This trail is mostly unpaved, but does have some short paved sections. It is not recommended for wheelchair use due to muddy sections and tree roots.
Quarry Lake Loop

This 1.25 km loop takes you around the scenic and popular Quarry Lake. Quarry Lake can be a great spot for a picnic and swim for families but can get crowded on warm summer days.
Since this trail is far away from downtown Canmore, the only nearby public parking available is the paid parking in the Quarry Lake parking lot. The nearby residential area south of the lake is for residents only.
Let Roam Transit do the driving and take Route 12 with FREE direct service to Quarry Lake and Grassi Lakes from downtown Canmore.

West Bow River Pathway

This 5.5 km paved one way trail (11.0 km round trip) and passes through a mix of forest and meadows with scenic viewpoints along the way. This trail connects the Canmore Boat Launch to Three Sisters, is entirely paved fully accessible, and is maintained year round!
The Canmore Boat Launch trailhead is the most convenient place to park, but you can also park at Riverside Park and the Town Centre.

The trail is wheelchair accessible and paved. There is an unpaved trail near the end of the trail and reconnects at the viewpoint, this can be a good alternative for those looking for a more natural feel but is not recommended for wheelchairs or during wet conditions.
