Election Day is Monday, October 20 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
All voting will take place at the Canmore Recreation Centre, 1900 8 Avenue
If you are not able to vote on October 20, you can vote at one of our advance elections or register for a special ballot. Keep reading for more information.
Advance voting is open to any elector who is unable to vote at the voting station on election day. The 2025 advance voting schedule, which will take place at the Canmore Recreation Centre, 1900 8 Avenue, is:
- Thursday, October 9 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, October 10 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 15 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Special (mail-in) ballots are available for any elector unable to vote at an advance vote or at the voting station on election day.
Special ballot applications will be available on this site from Tuesday, August 5, 2025 until noon on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Special ballot applications will be faster for individuals who are already on the permanent register of electors. You can check if you are already registered, register for the first time, or update your registration any time at https://www.voterlink.ab.ca/.
Special ballots will be mailed through Canada Post or available for pick up at the Canmore Civic Centre as soon as possible after candidate nominations close (noon on September 20 if there are enough candidates for all vacant positions). They must be returned to the election office by 7 p.m. on Monday, October 20. Please plan ahead to make sure you are able to return your ballots by the deadline.
On election day, additional voting stations will be located at:
- The Canmore Hospital - 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, Alberta – for patients only.
- The Bow River Seniors Lodge - 920 13 Street, Canmore, Alberta – for Lodge residents only. 12:45-2:15 p.m.
- Origins at Spring Creek - 808 Spring Creek Drive, Canmore Alberta – for Origins residents only.
