Fire Training

Canmore Fire-EMS provides Fire Suppression, Rescue, and Fire Education services to the Town of Canmore. Mutual Aid is provided to the surrounding communities of Banff, Bighorn, and Kananaskis Country.

Fire-EMS services are supported by 30 volunteer firefighters who are on call 24 hours a day and respond directly from home or work.

Training for firefighters includes weekly practices, weekend training courses, and training from the Alberta Fire Training School in Vermillion and is ongoing year round. Fire-EMS personnel are skilled in vehicle extrication, wildland and structural firefighting, technical rescue, first aid and CPR, hazardous goods response.
