Summary
The attached presentation was made on the evening of September 16, by Anna Pollock, and was a review of Canmore’s strengths and weaknesses and links from them to the options, opportunities and threats emerging from a global marketplace experiencing enormous flux and uncertainty. Anna discussed what policies, actions, and features would be needed to achieve the community vision of sustainability, diversity and connectedness.

The presentation was very well received by the 45 people that were in attendance, and was very thought provoking. Anna asked that while the presentation can be downloaded and shared, that it not be posted on 3rd party web sites without her prior consent.

Anna Pollock has over 35 years experience working in all aspects of destination marketing and management as a researcher, marketer, educator, strategist, visionary, change agent and popular speaker. Despite this variety, one consistent theme runs through her work - understanding, interpreting and communicating the deeper change forces that underpin surface trends and that necessitate and enable new ways or working, organizing and marketing places. Her longstanding interest in the application of information technology to destination marketing is now proving relevant to as destinations endeavor to attract the attention of a crowded and jaded consumer market.
Anna has earned an international reputation and appeal as speaker/educator, known for her ability to inspire, inform and entertain. She has worked throughout Canada, several European countries, Australia, New Zealand, China and Thailand.
