Capital Projects and Construction Updates

In order to ensure a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation, water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater network, Engineering Services conducts and/or reviews plans, designs and manages the construction of capital projects. 
Typical capital projects include:

  • upgrading existing infrastructure to provide additional capacity to support future growth and redevelopment
  • rehabilitating and replacing existing assets to maintain an acceptable level of service
  • enhancing or providing a new service, funded wholly or in part by the benefiting area as a “Local Improvement”

Most capital projects often take several years to complete design, gather public feedback, and construct.  Major capital projects, which are currently underway by Engineering Services include:
