A 75% weight restriction is placed on most town streets during the spring thaw season (typically March-May).  Requests for exception to this restriction can be sent to the Engineering Services Department.

-Notice of Traffic Weight Restriction-
The Town of Canmore 75% traffic weight restriction will be effective
March 8, 2010 until further notice on all Town roads,
except for the following:

1. Mountain Avenue (from Ray McBride Street to the east exit of the
Trans Canada Highway)
2. All of Bow Valley Trail within Corporate limits
3. 17th Street (from Bow Valley Trail to Industrial Place)
4. Elk Run Boulevard (from Highway 1A to Glacier Drive)
5. Glacier Drive
6. Boulder Crescent
7. Industrial Place
8. Benchlands Trail (from Bow Valley Trail to the Benchlands Overpass).

No load will be allowed to exceed 100% on the exempted roads listed above. All vehicle operators must abide with all posted restrictions. Vehicles unable to meet the restrictions will require permission in writing to exceed the restriction from Planning & Engineering Services prior to traveling on the affected roads.
