Building Permits are Required for most home renovations and constructions. Building permit applications are reviewed by the Planning Department and the Safety Codes Officer and in some cases by the engineering department. It is the goal of thetown to process complete permit applications within 20 business days. Most applications are processed quicker; however, times may vary with the volume of permits received.

It is always best to contact Planning and Development prior to comencing work to make sure that you have your permits in order or infact do not need a permit. Should work be done that requires but does not have a valid Building Permit, the Town will place a Stop Work Order on the premises and may levy fines or cause the work to be dismantled at the owners expence.

In order to apply for a Building Permit, you must complete the following application and submit it along with the listed documentation and appropriate fees to the permit clerks at the Civic Centre Reception.
