Developmental Screening

ASQ & ASQ-SE

The Bow Valley Parent Link Centres offer comprehensive developmental and social-emotional screening tools for families with children 0-6 years old. The ASQ and ASQ-SE screening tools determine those children that are typically developing and ones that require further assessment. Parents fill out the assessment on their own or with the help of a facilitator.

Triple P

Triple P – 1:1 Parent Consultation
Are you looking for new ideas for a specific challenging behaviour? Meet with the Triple P facilitator at the Parent Link Centre for a 4 session consultation to learn strategies to help you gain confidence in effectively managing this behaviour.

Relationship Counselling

Confidential, professional relationship counselling is available to Bow Valley couples with children from birth to 18 years of age. There are no fees and evening and weekend appointments are available. Family Counselling

The Child & Family Worker (CFW) addresses the needs of families with children 0-6 years throughout the Bow Valley. The CFW will be available to meet with families 1:1 to address child development and parenting issues, life transition issues and to provide advocacy where needed to assist in accessing community resources and supports. Visiting Resource Professionals

The Bow Valley Parent Link Banff and Canmore drop in stay and play programs are regularly visited by various professional resource staff from within each community. Library staff are scheduled on a regular basis to do circle time for us. Other professionals including public health nurses, occupational therapists, dentists and staff from AHS visits during drop in as well. See the calendars in our newsletters for specific dates.

Toy Lending Library

The Toy Lending Library is located at BVPL Drop In Centre in Canmore. Access is also available through the Banff & Exshaw Centres. The Toy Lending Library works like a book library and the sign out period is 3 weeks at a time. We have many different toys for children ages 0-6 years.
