| How to Get Involved |
|
The Vision for Canmore was created by Canmore residents – the responsibility for making it a reality belongs to all of us. Here are three great ways to get involved: Read the Vision Tell us what you want to see in the 2008 Community Sustainability Plan (formerly known as the Municipal Development Plan - MDP) The Municipal Development Plan is the principle statutory planning document governing growth and development in Canmore. You can tell us what issues should be addressed by the new MDP and what kind of solutions should be implemented. Click here to learn how to participate. Apply to become a member of the Vision Keepers Group (VKG) The Vision Keepers Group (VKG) is a group of Canmore residents charged with ensuring that the Vision for Canmore is reflected in the growth and development of the town of Canmore. Each year at Council's Organizational Meeting held in late October, Council will appoint members to the Vision Keepers Group. If there are resignations from, or vacancies on the Vision Keepers Group, Council can appoint new members at any time. Group members will need to see, think and act strategically – with a view to finding and focusing on major issues of community development, and to understand the wide spectrum of issues facing the community in an integrated manner, and at a minimum integrate the economic, environmental, social and leadership foundational values established as critical by the Mining the Future Vision. Please mail or drop off a letter outlining your interest and qualifications for sitting on the Vision Keepers to: Town of Canmore, Planning and Engineering Services, 902 – 7th Avenue, Canmore, T1W 3K1 by fax to 403 678 1534., or e-mail to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
