Hans Holthuis

Hans has been a Canmore Resident since 1998.  He is a Registered Psychologist and has worked in private practice and for private and public health care organizations for the past 10 years.  He also recently completed an Education Degree at the University of Calgary and is a Certified Teacher specializing in Secondary Science.   He has a keen interest in town planning and sustainability issues.

Simon Hudson
Simon Hudson is a Professor in Tourism and Marketing at the University of Calgary. He has held previous academic positions at universities in England, and has worked as a visiting professor in Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Fiji, New Zealand, the United States, and Australia. Prior to working in academia, Simon spent several years working in the tourism industry in Europe, and he now consults for the industry in Alberta and British Columbia. When Simon is not teaching or writing (he has four books to his name), he is usually found on the ski slopes, or in Canmore where he has a second home.
Ron Deans

Ron Deans has successfully operated his own consulting/training company for the past 23 years. He works with corporations, not-for-profits and the federal government, and has worked internationally in Indonesia, the UK and India. Ron works with all levels of management in coaching and development of leadership/communication skills with a special focus on strategy development, visioning and governance.

In 2005-6, he lived with his wife in Vancouver and was involved with three committees at the Vancouver Board of Trade; the Vision Working Group to establish a visioning process for Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, the Sustainability Committee to raise awareness of sustainability issues around triple-bottom-line accountability for business, and the Community Affairs Committee, which created positions for the Board of Trade on other social issues such as transportation, homelessness, health care and real estate development.

Ron brings his consulting and volunteer experience to the Vision Keepers Group. He hopes to contribute to the creativity and effectiveness of the group in carrying out its mandate for the Town of Canmore.

Doran Hanert
Doran Hanert and his wife have enjoyed the Bow Valley for many years as weekenders with a family cabin in Harvie Heights.  They liked the vibrancy of the community so much they decided to move permanently to Canmore in August 2006 to raise their family.  In the short time Doran has been living in Canmore, he has volunteered in the Snow Shovelling program for seniors in the community and assisted in the Bow Valley Spirit of Christmas Campaign.  He is wants to ensure the cultural, environmental and recreational aspects that Canmore has to offer remains for future generations.
Don Sears
I see my participation in the VKG as an opportunity to work with our Community, the Mayor and Council and Administrative staff in ensuring that the "Mining The Future" values and principles are reflected in Canmore's future.
Amy Krause
Amy Krause was born and raised in Calgary before moving to Canmore in 2002. Since then she has worked or volunteered with Park Radio, The Whyte Museum, the Alpine Club of Canada, the Town of Canmore and The Banff Centre. Amy's professional background is in communication and online networks. She was fortunate to lead a group during Mining The Future and looks forward to seeing the vision shape Canmore over the coming years. 
Hugh Simson
Hugh Simson was the final member of his family to call Canmore home. Born and raised in the small town of Rothesay New Brunswick, Hugh has lived in Ontario, the north eastern USA and most recently Colorado. In understanding the importance of both the Mining The Future document and process, Hugh sees the Vision Keepers Group as a unique opportunity to volunteer his time to ensure that the Vision, Values, and Guiding Principles are upheld with each topic brought forth to the Group.
