The Environmental Advisory Review Committee reports to Council.

EARC’s duties include providing advice to Council concerning environmental initiavies and policies related to the Town of Canmore.   EARC also advises Council about public awareness and understanding of particular environmental issues that may arise.  Finally, all Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Impact Assessments should be reviewed by EARC with a report of EARC’s findings presented to Council.

This Committee also oversees a set of environmental initiatives that involve the community in environmental stewardship. The goal is to help move Canmore towards a more sustainable future with less negative impact on the environment. The five environmental initiatives that are presently being undertaken are:
