January 26th WINTER CARNIVAL AT THE DRAKE:7:00pm 9-hole indoor annual mini-golf tournament. Register in teams of 2 in advance at the Drake. January 27th - February 5th ELEVATION GALLERY PRESENTS "FIGURE - GROUND" - Interpreting the Human Form Elevation Gallery's annual figurative exhibition is very diverse , introducing you to several new artists to the gallery as well as brand new works by some of your favorites. CORNERSTONE THEATRE & RESTAURANT PRESENTS - PUTTING IT TOGETHER - A STEPHEN SONDHEIM REVUE: 6:15PM 125 Kananaskis Way Starring locals, JP Thibodeau, Joe Morris and Karen Minish along with two returning favourites of the Cornerstone stage; Putting It Together is a show not to be missed! Two couples at a cocktail party in a Manhattan apartment wander their way through the joys and pitfalls of relationships and life with the music of acclaimed Broadway composer and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim. This event kicks off the Canmore Winter Carnival with a fantastic party! It's a new twist on an old favorite - miners, trappers, saloon girls and society women - dress the part and shake out the cabin fever at the Trapper's Costume Ball. Live entertainment, log sawing competition, silent auction, great party food, hairy men & prizes for best costume - all happening at the Iron Goat Pub & Grill - a great way to beat the winter blahs. January 31st CANMORE WINTER CARNIVAL EXPLORER SCAVENGER HUNT: 11:30AM TO 1:30PM Like a scavenger hunt but much, much more, Explorer Scavenger Hunts get your team hunting for historic items, collecting objects, uncovering secrets and participating in a few crazy team events. It is themed to Canmore’s unique and colourful history. Test locals’ knowledge! Teams will be exploring the downtown core area mostly between Railway Avenue and the Bow River. The event will be done entirely on foot. This program includes 3 activities during the event such as Junkyard Dog sledding, snowshoe obstacle course and Giant Ski course (Subject to change). Great prizes!

Register at the Tourism office, ski on the Main Street Ski Track. Make tracks on February 5, 5:30-8:00pm, February 6, 10am - 12pm and 5:30-9:00pm, February 7, 9:00-11:00am and 1:00 - 5:00pm on Main Street.

Little kids on skis racing up and down the street. Prizes. SKATING PARTY: 3:30-5:30pm hosted by the Canmore Community Daycare and The Bow Valley Before and After School Program, with music, hot chocolate and coffee from Starbucks at the Canmore Community Daycare outdoor rink, 1200 17 st. CORPORATE CHALLENGE: 5:30-8:00pm on the Main Street Ski Track February 6th ELEVATION GALLERY PRESENTS "EXPOSURE" - a festival of photography with two established Canadian artists, Sarah Fuller and Stev'nn Hall. Sarah will be presenting a project shot in Iceland and sponsored by Canada Council. Stev'nn is quite distinctive in his use of oil and resin on his photos, resulting in nostalgic haunting pieces that record his memories of childhood as seen through the car windshield. These shows both open on Saturday, Feb. 6....the launch date for 6 exhibitions in Canmore. This would be a great day for an artwalk! Show runs through to Feb.16.
